THRESHOLD Κατώφλι
Threshold explores the point at which emotional intensity begins to overwhelm perception, dissolving the distinction between reason, sensation, and feeling. The work considers the eye as both witness and psychological boundary, where internal experience becomes outwardly visible.
The bloodshot gaze speaks to the weight of lived experience, where emotion clouds vision and the act of seeing is no longer neutral. Deep reds meet ancient bronze and verdigris forms, using colour as an emotional register that reflects pressure, conflict, and the persistence of perception.
Rather than depicting a singular event, Threshold inhabits the moment before certainty, where awareness is suspended between the visible and the felt.
